This event will be run at the 2010 Convention
Date: Saturday 10 July 2010
Venue: Wrest Point, Hobart
Life in the Real World is an event designed to provide you with the skills necessary to juggle your life outside of medicine.
It will be run in three themes:
- ‘Life as an intern’, aimed at students in their final year of medicine, will focus on what you need to know next year and beyond.
- ‘Financial planning for students’ is designed for those of us who are just trying to keep afloat while we’re studying. It will focus on income, budgeting, savings and sources of credit for those larger expenses.
- ‘Investing early’, for those of us with larger disposable incomes thanks to a job on the side, scholarship or mysterious benefactor, will discuss ways to use your money more effectively.
In addition, it will be fully catered - an extra incentive to come along. You can put questions to a panel of professional experts and have a chat with service providers to the medical industry. A limited number of places are available for Convention delegates, for a nominal fee, so make sure you sign up during the Convention registration period.
If you missed signing up during the Convention registration process you may also attend by visiting the AMSA booth during Convention week.
