The Association's National Council formalises policy on education, workforce and public health issues. The Executive provides external representation to a variety of committees with an interest in medical education, including the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, the Australian Medical Association, the Medical Deans of Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Medical Council and the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils. The Public Relations Officer coordinates media for the Association, and the President attends meetings, where appropriate, with relevant stakeholders and politicians. The Association takes a particular interest in rural health and international student issues.
