Medical Education Resources
AMSA Med Ed-Resources is the division dedicated to creating free, peer-reviewed, open-access educational resources. Our goal is to create relevant resources for Australian medical students, by Australian medical students. All of our resources can be found at www.amsamoodle.org.au.
AMSA National Question Bank
The AMSA National Question Bank is a repository of clinical questions drawn from all areas of medicine, including general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics & gynaecology, and general practice. Hundreds of multiple-choice questions are available with detailed answers and links for further reading.
AMSA OSCEs creates practice OSCEs with detailed marking guides that students can be used to prepare for their end-of-year OSCEs. Founded in 2020, AMSA OSCEs is the newest Med Ed team; however, there are already over 50 practice OSCEs covering a range of topics that can be freely accessed on the Med Ed Moodle.
AMSA Fact Sheets
AMSA Fact Sheets are short, informative documents on general medical conditions. Whilst they can’t make you a cardiology fellow overnight, they are excellent for brushing up on a topic and cover all the major points. Fact Sheets exist for both high yield topics as well as some more niche ones you may not find in every textbook.
AMSA Academy is AMSA’s online learning portal, featuring educational videos and online courses on a variety of topics (eg. Refugee health, Sexual health, Mental health). It is also a key site of collaboration for different AMSA special interest groups (SIG), with modules from SIGs such as AMSA Global Health and AMSA Rural Health. Available courses also tackle issues of burnout, coping and student mental health.
