Keeping Your Grass Greener

ContentsIn 2014, AMSA is proud to release the second version of the highly successful Keeping Your Grass Greener guide, produced originally in 2011 in conjunction with the New Zealand Medical Students’ Association (NZMSA).

Keeping Your Grass Greener is a fantastic and user-friendly guide to assist medical students in maintaining their health and wellbeing throughout their time at medical school. In 2014, the guide features articles written by leading experts in the field of medicine, health and wellbeing, on topics including stress management, mental resilience, effective study strategies and financial planning.

Through encouraging students to think and reflect on their own health and wellbeing, the guide aims to actively de-stigmatise issues around mental health and wellbeing and get students thinking and talking about issues surrounding their own health issues. In addition, Keeping Your Grass Greener provides practical and reliable resources that can be accessed in times of stress.

New to the 2014 Keeping Your Grass Greener are articles aimed at junior doctor stressors and coping strategies, as well as information relevant to specific sub-groups of medical students including those on rural placement and those in transitional phases of career progression. This guide is an exciting product of the AMSA Mental Health Campaign and is aimed at helping YOU in your everyday life as a medical student.
