AMSA is a public company limited by guarantee. It consists of the AMSA Board, the National Executive and Members of the company. Our membership, medical students and University Medical Student Societies, play a key role in creating and directing our policy. Special Interest Groups and Projects contribute to the advocacy and initiatives of the organisation, while our Event teams create our world-class annual conferences.
AMSA is overseen by the National Executive recruited from across the country. They are responsible for the management and governance of the organisation, and for leading AMSA's broader leadership structure. Members of the National Executive and their contact details may be found here.
AMSA's National Council is the representative and voting body of the organisation. It consists of members from Australia's 22 medical schools. The National Council meet three times per year to discuss matters of importance, and direct the efforts of AMSA's leadership. AMSA Council is open to all medical students, in addition to their University AMSA Representatives, and provides an opportunity to engage with students from around the country.
