The Careers Conference is a one-of-its-kind, in-person national event dedicated to helping penultimate and graduating medical students navigate difficult internship choices and early career decisions, and gain a clearer picture to the murky unknowns of working in a public health system.
First held in 2023, the conference was developed in close collaboration with medical specialty colleges to ensure the program delivers relevant and practical content. Designed by and for penultimate and final year medical students, it offers an exclusive and distinctive forum to explore training opportunities, diverse career pathways beyond clinical medicine and skills to become workforce-ready. Inspiring keynote speakers share their insights, experiences, and passion to guide the next generation of medical professionals.
This year, Careers Conference 2026 will be held on 28-29 March at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, alongside AMSA's National Council and the Global Health Forum.
